Limenitis archippus or also known as the Viceroy is a North American butterfly that ranges through parts of the United States as well as parts of Canada and Mexico. It was long thought to be a Batesian mimic of the monarch butterfly however the Viceroy is also distasteful to predators and is now considered a Müllerian mimic instead.
