Description

A beautiful The Red Admiral butterfly in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.


The Red Admiral butterfly was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1758. It's caterpillar primary host plant is the stinging nettle. The female butterflies will only mate with males that hold territory. 


Its wingspan reaches 5 - 5.5 centimetres (1.9 - 2.16 in). 


Latin Name: Vanessa atalanta.
