A stunning rare Plusiotis adelaida in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.
First documented in 1840, the Plusiotis adelaida is one of the most unique looking beetles in the world. It's green elytra is patterned with red / orange stripes. These beetles are found in most areas of Central America and survive on certain fungus and bacteria found in these parts of the world.
These beetles are in threat of diminishing numbers due to logging for palm oil and other plantations. Our conservation farms help the population of these beautiful beetles.
