Wonderfully Coloured Agate Geode Bookends. Each pair of geodes is a unique piece created from nature with a rough outer part mixed with an amazing, shiny and colourful translucent rock formation held within.
Named after a river in Sicily. Agate with a cavity is called a geode. Most agates occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or ancient lavas where they represent cavities originally produced by the disengagement volatiles in the molten mass which were then filled, wholly or partially, by siliceous matter deposited in regular layers upon the walls.
