A Giant Forest Ant in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and region name are printed underneath the specimen.

The Giant Forest Ants are one of the largest ants in the world. Measuring 20.9mm for workers and for the soldiers. They live on 90% honeydew, but can also eat other insects and bird droppings. Colonies consist of around 7,000 - sometimes they can meet for what is only described as a ritual battle, these fights can span several months.
